For many thousands of years people of all ages have gathered to hear stories, move, listen to and create music.  Just think of we modern humans gathered around a TV or in a movie theater and you will see remnants of story tellers around a fire.  Sing a national anthem or a love song and you will be continuing the human traditions of ancient celebrations.  Watch a young child listen to a pleasant rhythmical song and see how it entices him or her to bounce and sway.  Many researchers are now suggesting that these very tools used for communication helped to develop language and learning itself and can provide optimum conditions for physically building a brain capable of storing, retrieving and reforming information into problem solutions and creating new ideas.

Susan invites you to learn the basics of rhythm, movement, tone variation and singing.  Her 30 years as a professional performing artist, 20 years of working with children and ten years of training adults assures you of a basic and lasting experience to enhance your teaching skills.

In her first book, "Come Join the Circle" Susan shares the hows and whys of working with multicultural circle dancing and singing.  It answers questions you may have about your own ability and reports on the latest in brain research
